Rivals250 running back Jaylon Glover has been high on Florida State for a while, and FSU brought him back this week for his crucial official visit.
After the trip ended Thursday, Glover addressed where the Seminoles stand on his list, when he plans to make his college decision, and how the trip to Tallahassee went overall.
Glover didn’t mince words when it came to his high opinion of his official visit with FSU and head coach Mike Norvell.
“Enjoyed the visit, I enjoyed all of the staff. Coach Norvell and this staff do a great job of keeping things fun,” Glover said. “The events, the food we had was great, and I enjoyed my visit.”

Glover said he can see the change in direction of FSU overall since Norvell took over in December of 2019.
“My favorite part was seeing the culture change from the old staff to the new staff. It’s a big difference on what the standard is. They keep it high,” Glover said. “I definitely see that in talking to the staff and the players.”
Off the field, the sport of college football as a whole is undergoing significant changes when it comes to name, image and likeness legislation. The 2022 recruiting class will be the first crop of freshmen to experience the enormous differences between the past and future of NCAA football.
Glover explained how FSU addressed the upcoming alterations to NCAA playe rights during his visit, the inherent advantages a national power like FSU possesses, and how they are prepared to properly assist their student-athletes.
“It’s pretty easy with Florida State, their big brand,” Glover said. “They can help us along the way. They can give us advice and things of that sort. With the APEX program, we have all the access we need to get our names out there.”
After his June visits are wrapped up, Glover wants to come to a conclusion on his decision fairly soon. He explained why he thought his FSU visit was “elite.”
“They did a great job. I really enjoyed it. It’s probably the best one,” Glover said. “They do a great job and I definitely enjoy myself in Tally.”
When he met with the FSU staff, Glover said that “their personality translated even better in person,” and the coaches are “just great people.”
After he met with Norvell, Glover said it was clear he was an important piece of the puzzle for Florida State’s class.
“He told me, ‘I knew when I saw your film that you’re a priority.’ The biggest thing for him is that he knows what it takes, he had five running backs at Memphis” Glover explained. “He said, ‘if we get guys like you are highly touted, just imagine what we can do. We are going to be explosive.’”
Another specific part of the visit that was “elite,” in Glover’s own words, was the academic presentation.
“This was the only visit where I got to actually talk to my study professor. We went through my college credits and really got into detail about where I’m at,” Glover said. “It was really good and I enjoyed that part.”
Even though his Lake Gibson High School teammate Sam McCall is already committed to FSU, Glover said McCall tells him to do what’s best for him and doesn’t push him too hard. But McCall turned up the heat a little bit while Glover was in Tallahassee.
“He doesn’t recruit really hard because he knows where my head is. But on this visit, he called me every day. So yeah, he does his thing a little bit,” Glover said.
With his decision looming, Glover said the “best fit” is the most important factor. He also said academics and life after football are very key.
Glover said he will sit down with his friends and family and make his decision “when he gets that feeling and when things feel right.” He said at the moment, he still isn’t sure whether he will decide this summer or after the start of his senior year.
Whether Glover’s announcement comes sooner or later, the Seminoles have clearly positioned themselves well in the race for the impressive in-state running back.
“I enjoy FSU, man. They have always been high, especially being an in-state school and they offered pretty early and they always show love,” Glover said. “So, Florida State fans, I am definitely loving Florida State.”
