Mauricio Pochettino has decided to bet on Mauro Icardi and Ander Herrera to try to turn things around against Manchester City.
Mauricio Pochettino had two important choices to make in his roster for the semi-final second leg between Manchester City and the Paris Saint Germain, the club of the capital being deprived of two holders of the first leg, Kylian Mbappé and Idrissa Gueye.
To replace the world champion striker, affected in the calf and forced to start the meeting on the bench, Pochettino decided to opt for a 4-3-3 according to L’Equipe. The Argentinian technician chose to keep a pure center-forward, betting on Mauro Icardi, rather than Moise Kean.
In the midfield, in the absence of Gueye, one could imagine seeing the return of Julian Draxler to the left of the midfield, with Marco Verratti who would come down a notch, or the presence of Danilo Pereira. It was ultimately Ander Herrera who was chosen to support Leandro Paredes and Verratti.
