Victim of a terrible fall in August 2020 at the Tour of Poland, Fabio Jakobsen won his first success since his recovery, at the Tour de Wallonie.
The emotion is immense for Fabio Jakobsen. Almost a year later the terrible fall he suffered on the Tour of Poland, the Dutch sprinter regained the victory. The rider of the Deceuninck-Quick Step, who had almost lost his life in this accident, and who had to wait nearly nine months before returning to competition, won the second stage of the Tour de Wallonie on Wednesday, beating Fernando Gaviria.

Ironically, the day before, it was Dylan Groenewegen, the sprinter who had caused this terrible fall in Poland and who had been heavily suspended, who had won the 1st stage. His first victory since his return, too.
