Finalist of the last Champions League, PSG is however the club to have received the biggest income, in front of Bayern Munich, its executioner in the final.
Failing to win the Champions League in the Lisbon Final 8, the PSG finished at the top of the earnings standings last season. This is what emerges from the UEFA financial report made public after the recent congress of the European body. Unhappy finalist of the competition, beaten in the final by the Bayern Munich, the club of the capital has indeed received 126.8 million euros for its course, the Bavarian giant having to settle for 125.5 million.
Eliminated in the quarter-finals, the Barça nonetheless completes the podium with 100.3 million while Manchester city and theAtletico Madrid next in fourth and fifth place with 94.7 and 91.5 million euros respectively. Semi-finalist of the event, Olympique Lyonnais Only sixth place with 91.2 million while Leipzig, the other unfortunate semi-finalist, does not even appear in the Top 10, having to settle for the 11e place with 68.7 million. He is preceded by Juventus (€ 85.1m), Real Madrid (€ 80.9m), Liverpool (€ 79.6m) and Chelsea (€ 78.6m).
Lille won more than the winner of the Europa League
The distribution of these endowments does not depend only on sporting results but is also indexed on the history of clubs over the past ten years and on TV rights paid by broadcasters in each country, to the tune of 30 and 15% respectively.
