Winner of 2-0 Sevilla FC on Tuesday, Atletico Madrid continues to crush La Liga.
TheAtletico Madrid did not miss the opportunity to widen the gap. Already leading La Liga despite three games less than their runner-up, the real Madrid, the Colchoneros took advantage of the reception of Sevilla FC to get comfortable.
Winner 2-0 at Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico is now four lengths ahead of neighbor Madrid despite still two games behind. After 16 matches, Diego Simeone’s troops have 41 points. They have only done better once in their history: in the 2013-14 season when they posted 43 points and headed for the title.
Even more impressive, Atletico Madrid have still only conceded six goals after 16 matches. This is the second lowest total since in La Liga history behind the five goals conceded by Deportivo La Coruna in the 1993-94 season.
