OM drew against Braga on Wednesday in Portugal (1-1). By showing two very distinct faces.
The summer preparation of OM, under the orders of Jorge Sampaoli, is obviously intense. One only has to see the celebration of a Payet feigning collapse to be convinced of it; but also and above all the very laborious start of the Marseillais this Wednesday in Braga, six days after a rather convincing success signed at the expense of Servette de Genève (3-1). This time, for the Olympians, no victory in the key but a draw all in all logical (1-1). With a second period much more convincing than the first act at the finish.
The initial 45 minutes in fact betrayed the great fatigue of the moment of the Phocéens, again and always aligned in 3-4-3 with a defensive trio Balerdi-Alvaro-Amavi which will be especially illustrated by its feverishness. Quite logically, Marseille therefore conceded the opening of the scoring in this match, on an individual error of Balerdi exploited as it should be by Ruiz (0-1, 19e). But after the rest, the balance of power gradually reversed.
Guendouzi, that promises
Before clearly taking the hand, Payet first equalized opportunistically, with a superb half-volley (1-1, 52e). Then the entrants did good to this OM in search of breath. The Dieng, Luan Peres, Rongier and De La Fuente, without forgetting the Saliba and Guendouzi who, thrown in the bath at the 72e minute, took their first steps in the Ciel et Blanc jersey. Special mention certainly to the second, who in the space of 20 minutes will have multiplied the initiatives and the class gestures, until putting into orbit a Dieng whose goal will unfortunately have been invalidated for offside (82e).
Real promises to be confirmed despite heavy legs against Benfica, next Sunday, Saint Etienne, July 28, and Villarreal, three later. All to be ready for the resumption, on Sunday August 8 in front of Montpellier, at the end of the 1time lifting of Ligue 1.
