Without a club since leaving the Russian club in Sochi last August, Giannelli Imbula could very soon wear the jersey of En Avant Guingamp.
It all started in Roudourou. In 2009, Gianni Imbula signed his first professional contract at Guingamp. Four years later, the midfielder spins to Marseilles with the costume of great hope. Hopes that he will not really materialize on the side of the Canebière, enough to push him to fly to FC Porto.
From then on, the 28-year-old player will chain clubs. In four years, he will travel to the four corners of Europe, passing through England (Stoke City), before being loaned to Toulouse for a brief return to France. A new loan follows in Spain (Rayo Vallecano), and a last in Italy, near Lecce. And Imbula finally landed in Russia, in the Sochi club where he only played thirty minutes.
Imbula can come full circle
After his many short-lived experiences, Giannelli Imbula returned to the source. Since October 2020, he has been training with the En Avant reserve. This Tuesday, the Guingampais coach Mecha Bazdarevic indicated that the player will train with the pro group from December 30. Information relayed by the daily Ouest-France which indicates that in the event of satisfactory performance, a contract could be offered to the former of the Breton house.
