This Wednesday evening, in the context of a late match of the 5th day of Lidl Starligue, Nantes got the better of Tremblay (32-25).
Nantes ended its year 2020 perfectly well. A year that was inevitably special, due to the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to be rife throughout the world today. A Covid-19 that has also greatly disrupted the 2020-21 calendar of the Lidl Starligue of men’s handball. As proof, this meeting on Wednesday, played at the very end of the afternoon, corresponded to a late match of the 5th day. And in this little game, it is therefore indeed the H that had the last word. Indeed, Nantes beat Tremblay (32-25). The opponents of the club based in the Loire-Atlantique department bravely played their luck, and this until the end. As proof, led 16-11 within three minutes of the break, the formation based in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis then inflicted a scathing 4-0 on its hosts for a day, to return to the locker room with only one goal behind and thus completely restart this meeting (16-15, MT).
Nantes ends a series of four straight losses
In the second act, what was to happen then, happened. Tremblay managed to take the lead in the race, but without managing to take more than a goal in advance (20-21, 44th). Ultimately, it is therefore the people of Nantes who thus managed to have the last word, by making their experience speak, notably under the leadership of Aymeric Minne (6/8), Valero Rivera (5/7) or even of David Balaguer (5/7). Thanks to this success, Nantes put an end to a worrying series of four consecutive defeats, in all competitions. Indeed, the last victory of the H went back to last December 6 ((20-25) in Dunkirk). On Tremblay’s side, nothing is definitely wrong. Indeed, the club has still not won a single meeting this season. In the French championship standings, Nantes occupies fifth place, while Tremblay remains dead last. But there are still many late matches to play, on both sides, as for all French clubs, for that matter.
