Boxer Felix Verdejo faces the death penalty after a heinous murder.
Qualified for the London Olympics in 2012 under the colors of Puerto Rico, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by the future winner, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Felix verdejo is at the heart of a horrible murder story. We remember that the Puerto Rican was named hope of the year by ESPN in 2014 and challenger for the WBO lightweight title in 2016. Verdejo was considered a big hopeful of the sport until a motorcycle accident in 2016 which slowed down his career.
A criminal complaint was filed at the US District Court for the District of Puerto Rico against the boxer – currently in detention – for ” kidnapping resulting in death “,” car-jacking resulting in mort “and” intentional murder of an unborn child “.
Felix Verdejo, married and father of a little girl, had a romantic relationship with another woman, Keishla Marlen Rodriguez Ortiz (27 years old). The latter went to see Verdejo last week to tell him that she was expecting a child from him. She has since been found dead, identified through a dental scan because her face was disfigured.

With the help of an accomplice confessed, Verdejo would have murdered the young woman so as not to see the arrival of the child. He allegedly hit the victim when they met before injecting him with a syringe to drug her. Vardejo then tied Keishla Marlen Rodriguez Ortiz to a block of cement, shot her with a pistol, and threw her into a river from a bridge.
His promotion company, Top Rank, removed his file and supported the victim’s family. Charges against Felix Verdejo may carry the death penalty.
