Before facing the Clippers in raising the curtain of the season, the outgoing champions received their ring on the floor of the Staples Center.
Barely more than two months after their coronation, the 17th in the history of the franchise, the Lakers put the heat back on tonight, against the Clippers. Before that, as tradition dictates, they received their champion ring. At least those who are still in the LA workforce, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, “KCP”, Kyle Kuzma, Alex Caruso, Markieff Morris, Jared Dudley, Quinn Cook, Talen Horton-Tucker, Devontae Cacok and Kostas Antetokounmpo. Ditto for the staff, led by Franck Vogel. Hailed by owner Jeanie Buss, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, Danny Green and the other players who left in the offseason will receive their jewels during the season, when they cross paths with their former team. Note that the Californian club will await the return of the public to unveil the banner that will be hung from the ceiling of the Staples Center. With this 17th coronation, the Lakers equaled Boston’s record. LeBron James has meanwhile won his fourth NBA championship title.
