INTERVIEW – The Montpellier club should have its new stadium by 2024. Its president explains.
Various sites in the Montpellier metropolitan area have been studied to accommodate the new stadium desired by Laurent Nicollin (47), president of the MHSC, but it is ultimately in Pérols that this 25,000-seat enclosure should see the light of day in 2024, l year of the club’s 50th anniversary. A project that President Nicollin presents for Le Figaro.

LE FIGARO. – What is your feeling after the announcement of the location where the Louis-Nicollin stadium will be erected?
Laurent NICOLLIN. – This is a step taken, after more than three and a half years of discussions, progress and, for us at the club, daily work to bring out a project like that. There are still many other steps to be taken, especially when we will attack the public discussions to move forward. There will be a sigh of relief when the building permit is issued, a second sigh of relief when the works begin, and a sigh of pleasure, joy and perhaps pride when the stadium comes out of the ground.
