A surprise took place in the first match of the Boxing Day Jeep Elite. A very offensive MSB brought down Boulogne-Levallois, the leader (95-88).
On the day after Christmas, Le Mans gave itself a nice gift: the Boulogne-Levallois scalp (95-88). In Antares, the MSB was serious from start to finish to win against the leader of the Jeep Elite. Before the other three of the Boxing Day match, it is now a trio which occupies the head of the French championship while the Sarthois integrate the top 8 thanks to a record which is now in balance 3 wins – 3 defeats.
Les Manceaux led the race for most of the match thanks to the Ovie Soko – Valentin Bigotte duo, 22 points each. Eric Delord’s men have done the job to have a lead of up to ten points at the start of the third quarter. But that almost wasn’t enough. When the Ile-de-France club raised the defensive level, in particular thanks to Lahaou Konaté (13 points), the Jeep Elite leader could hope to avoid his second defeat of the season. A 15-2 in four minutes in the third quarter wavered the MSB. But Scott Bamforth (19 points) and Terry Tarpey (15 points) allowed the Sarthois club to take the lead. They put in big shots to keep Boulogne-Levallois less than a minute ahead. In the last quarter, the scenario was similar with Metropolitans who took the lead five minutes from the buzzer. But Anthony Brown’s external address (18 points at 50% at 3 points) was not sufficient. Once again, Le Mans made use of its ability to react to take the advantage during the last change of leader of the game and offer an important victory, the first for more than two months because of the confinement.
VICTORY !! 😀
What a match for our warriors this afternoon against the leader of the # JeepELITE ! 💪💥
