This Tuesday, FIBA formalized the cities that will host the quarter-finals of the Euroleague women’s basketball. The women’s ASVEL will play against Sopron, in Sopron.
It is now official. On Tuesday, FIBA announced the cities where the Euroleague women’s basketball quarter-finals will be held. Concerned by this eagerly awaited decision, the women’s ASVEL will face Sopron, on the side of Sopron in Hungary. Exceptionally, and this because of the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to rage throughout the world today, these quarter-finals will only be played in two matches. The protected Valery Demory will play the first act on Wednesday March 17, before continuing with the quarter-final return, just two short days later, on Friday March 19. Due to the current health crisis, several “bubbles” have been set up for the rest of this prestigious competition.

Two more quarters will be played in Spain
Thus, still on the side of Sopron in Hungary, in addition to this famous duel which therefore pits the local club of Sopron against the women’s ASVEL, we will find another confrontation, which will oppose two Russian clubs, namely Ekaterinburg but also Kursk. Then, the winners of these different matches will qualify for the Final Four 2021. The latter will be held on Friday April 16 and Sunday April 18. The other “bubble” was installed on the side of Spain, and more precisely in the city of Salamanca. Two other duels will therefore obviously be planned. The first will thus pit the Spaniards of Uni Girona CB against the Spaniards of Perfumerias Avenida. Finally, the second will see the Turks of Galatasaray face off against the Turks of Fenerbahçe SK.
