Kevin de Bruyne and Axel Witsel are forfeited for Belgium’s first match at the Euro this Saturday against Russia.
The plane left without them. Kevin de bruyne and Axel witsel remained in Belgium as their teammates flew to St. Petersburg on Friday. On Saturday, the Red Devils will face Russia for their entry into Euro 2020 (9 p.m.).
The two midfielders were forfeited due to injury. The Manchester City playmaker has been on the sidelines since the shock received in the final of the last Champions League, lost against Chelsea (1-0).
Witsel is also continuing his convalescence in Tubize, a training ground for the Belgian selection. The Borussia Dortmund player has come a long way after a torn Achilles tendon contracted in January.
Belgium and Russia are in group B along with Finland and Denmark. The four teams play their first game on Saturday.
