Ten games were on the program for the night in the NBA, and they notably saw Denver win over the Clippers and steal third place in the Western Conference. Dallas and Luka Doncic beat the Russell Westbrook Wizards.
Game of the Night: LA Clippers – Denver
It’s a match that could be expensive for the final standings and the first round of the play-offs! Denver won 110-104 on the Clippers’ floor in the shock of the night, and climbs to the third step of the Western Conference podium, now half a game ahead of their opponent in the evening, and virtually a game against the Lakers in the first round of the play-offs, while the Clippers face Dallas. The Colorado players struck a big blow, dominating this game for the last three quarters, facing the helpless Clippers despite the presence of their stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. While the Californians got off to a great start with an eleven point lead, they then saw the Nuggets take the lead and lead 52-47 at halftime. The Clippers edged ahead by one point in the third quarter, but Denver immediately put the pressure on to take a twelve point lead. With 1’40 seconds to go, the Californians came down to 98-101, but Nikola Jokic scored three free throws and Facundo Campazzo a three-point shot to ward off danger. The Serbian was still brilliant, with 30 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists on the clock. Paul George finished with 20 points (5 of 21 on shots) and 7 rebounds.
MVP of the night: Luka Doncic
American Airlines Arena’s 4,351 spectators got their money’s worth! The show was on between Dallas and Washington, and the Mavericks finally won 125-124, after a game they largely dominated at the start, before winning on the wire with a three-point shot. Dorian Finney-Smith nine seconds from time. And the Texans obviously could count on their star, Luka Doncic, who wrote another page in his history on Saturday, scoring 31 points (12 of 23 on shots) and taking 12 rebounds, classic for him, but above all by delivering 20 assists, a new career record. The Slovenian had already dealt 19 caviars on several occasions since his Big League debut, but he upped his tally to 20 against the Wizards of triple-double specialist Russell Westbrook, who this time had to s’ tilt in the face of stronger, “content” with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists.
