INTERVIEW – The president of the most successful French rugby club takes stock after a disastrous year 2020.
At the beginning of October, Didier Lacroix told the Figaro his fear of finding Stade Toulousain in suspension of payments at the end of the year. Three months later, the deadline arrived. Thanks to loans and the first compensation from the state expected in mid-January, the club still survives. But the Occitan president warns. If the situation were to continue until the end of the season, the public authorities will again be called upon to save professional rugby clubs. Maintenance without tongue in cheek.
LE FIGARO. – Three months ago, you announced in our columns a risk of suspension of payments in January if the situation did not change. Are you still so alarmist?
