Erling Haaland won the 2020 Golden Boy, the trophy that rewards the best player under 21. Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga finished in 5th position in the standings.

Tuttosport unveiled the ranking of the Golden Boy 2020. After João Félix in 2019, Erling Haaland (302 points) won the trophy reserved for young players under 21 this year. The 20-year-old Norwegian, transferred to Borussia Dortmund last winter, had an excellent 2020 with 19 goals in the Bundesliga in 21 appearances (6 goals in 6 matches in 2020-2021) and 6 goals in the Champions League, including 4 since the start of the last fiscal year. The Norwegian is ahead of Ansu Fati (239 points), the young FC Barcelona striker who has established himself (before his injury) as an essential element of the Catalan squad. Alphonso Davies (226 points), one of the revelations of the 2019-2020 season and winner of the last Champions League with Bayern Munich, completes the podium.

Camavinga takes 5th place

While in 2019 the first tricolor, Matteo Guendouzi, was only in 17th place in the standings, this year we find a Frenchman at the top of the basket. Eduardo Camavinga (50 points), the nugget of Stade Rennais, is rewarded for his very good debut among professionals by finishing in 5th position, just behind Jadon Sancho (Dortmund, 4th, 80 points) and in front of great talents like Phil Foden ( Manchester City, 7th, 36 points) or Mason Greenwood (Manchester United, 12th, 7 points). Note the presence in the standings of Jonathan David (1 point), the LOSC striker, in 17th place. The Canadian, in difficulty with his club since the start of the season, had distinguished himself in 2020 with his former team, La Gantoise.
